I am ready to schedule!

What is individual counseling for?

Helping you to grow, transform and live an inspirational life even if you are experiencing: depression, anxiety, trauma, family problems, work stress or other issues.

 Depression & Anxiety

Have you ever felt like you just can't get things done like you used to?  Maybe, you just haven't been feeling like yourself lately.  Some signs of depression can include not feeling like you are worthwhile or feeling hopeless about your life.  Depression can cause difficulties with sleeping, changes in eating habits, decreased energy or motivation to do things that you used to like doing.

Other times, people have a really hard time calming themselves down- they spend way too much mental energy worrying about everything that is going on, how to get everything done that needs to get done or maybe you just feel irritated and frustrated some of the time.  Counseling can help you figure out what is going on that is causing you to feel the way that you do.  Individual counseling can help you learn healthier ways to cope with your stress and give you the tools that you need to be successful in your life, no matter how you define successful.

Trauma

Are you tired of just "surviving" the day but not really thriving or living in the moment?  What would it look like if you were able to learn how to work through your traumatic pain within a supportive  environment?

Welcome to trauma work!  Trauma is defined by a deeply disturbing event or series of events that often marks us in detrimental ways.  We specialize in working through complex trauma.

You might ask "what is complex trauma?", Like other forms of more well-known "trauma"  these forms of trauma, complex trauma, are a monster all on it's own.  It is trauma that is consistently experienced throughout those formative years and is commonly seen in people who been physically, emotionally or sexually abused by a caregiver when they were young.  The horrific and damaging experience of being hurt by those that were put on Earth to protect and love us can be a devastating factor in how we learn how to interact and even attach to others in our lives.

When we are able to tell our stories, hear and process new or different perspectives on things and even come to terms with past trauma, post traumatic growth occurs.  It is coming through the trauma and becoming more resilient as a result.  Telling our story and learning from our past and present significantly impacts our future.  We are able to come up with different conclusions about events that have happened in our past and almost “re-write” our stories.

Good, better, best.  Never let it rest.  'Til your good is better and your better is best.

Family Problems

Family counseling is, by far, one of our most challenging and rewarding types of work done. During family counseling sessions, we work on communication styles/techniques, parenting issues (all of those challenging things that makes us want to pull our hair out), setting boundaries and limits, even adjusting to recent changes in the family (a new member, blended families, empty nest, moves) and/or  working through whatever problem your family may be experiencing...the key being working together...as a family.

Not feeling the "spark" anymore?  Or perhaps the everyday jumble of schedules, work and extracurricular activities has gotten you off track as a couple.  Either way, Peak Professional Group can help.

We will work with you to improve communication, life changes, work through infidelity, and a wide variety of  issues that impact couples.  We use a strengths-based approach that is tailored to your needs-as a couple.

As if you had to ask, yes we are supportive of the LBGTQ  community and different family lifestyles, so if your "family" doesn't fit in society's mold, have no fear, PPG is here to support you and your family!
