Reasons to go to Therapy: - You won't hear things like "it's gonna be okay, I know how you feel, you will get over it" - You get an entire hour to talk about whatever you want want- guilt free and interruption free - Saying things out loud helps you understand them in a different way - A therapist helps you develop insight and coping skills - There is no competition in dialogue. A therapist won't talk about their problems and make it a competition! - You will get a chance to talk about whoever/whatever is causing havoc in your life (friends, family, spouse, kids) and no one is going to judge you or tell anyone about what you are saying - You can be your authentic true self in a judgement free and warm environment - You can learn how to truly be your own kinda badass!
What things can be treated with therapy? While there are a million different things that you can treat and work through in therapy (not literally, LOL), some of the more common issues tend to be: depression (sadness, lack of motivation, irritation), anxiety (feeling keyed up, unable to relax, nervous), trauma (physical, emotional, sexual abuse, domestic violence, among many others), relationship issues (arguing too much, not understanding each other, infidelity and other communication-related issues, ADHD, Parenting Issues, etc. We can help you learn how to feel better about yourself and other people in your life and also help you learn ways to better manage stress and ultimately how to take better care of yourself!
What types of therapy do you provide at your office? We have clinicians trained in many different techniques and styles of therapy. Some of these types of therapy include: Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-focused therapy, play therapy, child-centered play therapy, Sandtray Therapy & hypnosis. At Peak we don't treat people in a bubble, we can also provide family therapy and couples counseling. We believe that your issues are just as unique as you are which is why we tailor your treatment to your individual needs!
Do you offer evenings &/or weekend appointments? We have therapists at our practice that are able to accommodate most needed days or times including Saturdays and evenings. We also offer telehealth services where you can be at your computer getting therapy instead of traveling to the office. This also means you can remain productive without losing travel time during work hours, some clients even take their lunch break to get a session in.
