Beverly Brosnick, LCSWA
Beverly was born and raised in North Carolina. She attended UNC-Wilmington where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2010. She also graduated from the Joint MSW program at UNC-Greensboro and NCA&T in May 2019. Her life philosophy is that today is never too late to make a change. Beverly believes that therapy should feel like a supportive conversation between two or more equal individuals, not a superior/inferior relationship. She emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship from the very beginning and recognizes that it is the most important factor in the therapy process. She strives to be upfront, honest, and open with her clients in hopes that clients can feel comfortable and as relaxed as possible when meeting with her. Because she practices from a client-centered philosophy, she involves her clients in the decision making process and empowers them to take control of their life. Beverly enjoys working with people of all ages, especially children, teens and young adults, to empower them in creating change in their life to achieve a maximum level of satisfaction and functioning. She has experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with anxiety, depression, trauma and stressor-related disorders, conduct disorders, and ADHD.
When practicing, Beverly uses a variety of therapeutics modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based techniques, strengths-based techniques, play therapy, solution-focused techniques, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques. Beverly believes that every person is unique and therefore has individualized needs within the therapeutic process. She tailors treatment to meet the needs and goals of each client and believes in client-centered therapy.
