Meet Alicia

Alicia’s life passion is helping those who have experienced trauma become empowered and not allow the trauma to define the rest of their life – to see them thrive and not just survive!

Alicia is a native North Carolinian, she was born and raised in Oxford, NC and moved to Wake County in 2007. Alicia attended UNC-Chapel Hill and USC, and is a fully licensed LCSW. She specializes in trauma, and is rostered in both TF-CBT (ages 5-17) and CPT (ages 17 and older), both of which are the gold star standards of treatment for PTSD and trauma related symptoms.

Alicia also has a wealth of experience in working with those going through life transitions such as divorce and grief. Alicia considers her role in "holding space" as integral to the healing process. The term "holding space" is an important concept when working with a therapist. This means that your therapist is helping you work through whatever issues are causing you emotional pain in a supportive and comforting way, without judgement! It means validating your traumatic experiences whether that be divorce, a death in the family or other experiences that can cause negative issues in your life.

She is especially talented at and passionate about helping people going through divorce, rebuild their lives. This includes issues related to co-parenting and blended families. Her training and education uniquely prepare her to support you in this journey! Alicia provides a compassionate, non-judgmental safe place for children and adults. You can expect to work collaboratively together to identify your treatment goals and start the therapeutic process with where you are.

Alicia’s office offers a warm, non-sterile environment located in North Raleigh and also convenient to those in Wake Forest. Alicia enjoys spending time with her family that includes two adorable shih tzus, Bella and Lorelei. She especially enjoys traveling and takes an annual trip to Disney World with her daughter. Alicia loves all Tar Heel sports and frequently attends home games.
