Meet Amber

Amber is open to all areas. She has a specific interest in peri-natal counseling and plans to pursue additional training and/or certification in this area. Amber's treatment approaches are client-centered and collaborative. Amber considered the whole person in her treatment plans. This includes the client's mental health and physical health. The main modalities used include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness.

Amber received a mini-certificate from the University of Michigan for Trauma-Informed Practice. Clients can expect a gentle hand to guide them in working through any trauma experienced to avoid re-traumatization. Amber has experience with a variety of ages and populations. Her previous work included a group home for adults with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. Additionally, she has worked with children diagnosed with ASD in an ABA clinic and in a special education classroom.

Amber's treatment approaches are client-centered and collaborative. Clients can expect a particular focus on strengths-based treatment, identifying core values, and a tailored plan that fits into their lifestyle. Clients can expect a relaxed vibe in the session. The goal is to create a safe space where every client feels comfortable to freely express themselves, their needs and hopes. Clients can expect to leave a session with coping strategies to use outside the session, which are personalized to each client's unique needs. These strategies are aimed at helping a client take back control of their life.
