Meet Larin

Larin is not only warm and caring in her demeanor, she is “your” person when you are in session with her. Taking time to really get to know and understand each person that comes through her door is one of the unique qualities that Larin offers clients seeking treatment with her.

Larin knows that it’s important that both the counselor and the client take an active role in the therapeutic process. With that, she believes there are many ways to connect and gain insight, whether that’s through role play, art, journaling, or books (bibliotherapy). Larin thinks being creative, open, and intentional about building a strong relationship with one another are a critical part of the process!

Larin’s past experience as a social worker and as a school counselor has led her to becoming an amazing advocate within these different systems. In her words:

I believe our immediate and systemic environment plays a significant role in our mental health. I want to be mindful of the power differential that can be created in a counseling space, and I believe all voices and identities should be valued and celebrated.

Generally Larin takes a casual, person centered approach that is fairly nondirective. She likes to have a clear understanding of client goals and tries to meet folks where they are at, and she understand the importance of creating a space that feels safe, comfortable, and non judgmental.

Larin is also a Prepare & Enrich Facilitator!
