Meet Phylicia
Phylicia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA), School-Based and Outpatient Therapist, and Licensed North Carolina School Social Worker. She focuses on helping children, teens, and adults (ages 5 and up) build emotional strength and develop effective coping skills. Phylicia works collaboratively with clients to address concerns such as anxiety, behavioral challenges, and difficult life transitions.
For children, Phylicia incorporates play and creative activities to encourage emotional expression and enhance social skills. With teens and adults, she emphasizes communication, problem-solving, and practical strategies for managing stress. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where individuals feel empowered and confident in navigating life’s challenges.
Phylicia takes a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing that each individual is shaped by a variety of factors, including their environment, relationships, and internal strengths. She focuses on a client’s unique abilities, fostering a sense of empowerment while addressing areas for growth.
She integrates systems theory to understand how interconnected systems—such as family, school, and community—impact a client’s well-being and behavior. This perspective allows her to see the bigger picture and tailor interventions to meet each client’s specific needs.
Phylicia also utilizes evidence-based therapeutic techniques, ensuring that her methods are grounded in research and proven to be effective. By combining strength-based practices with a systemic lens and sound therapeutic tools, she helps clients navigate challenges, build resilience, and create lasting positive changes in their lives.
Clients can expect to leave sessions with a deeper understanding of themselves and the tools needed to manage life’s challenges. They will gain practical strategies for achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being, both in the short and long term. Most importantly, clients will build confidence in their ability to navigate difficult situations and create positive, lasting change in their lives.
